UNIVERSITY Esports Masters 2024: Europe's largest university esports tournament

03/08/2024 - The UNIVERSITY Esports Masters enters its eighth season. Students from over 16 countries compete in five popular games to crown the European champion. The focus is not only on sporting competition, but also on a sense of community and professional opportunities.

The European esports sector is eagerly awaiting the UNIVERSITY Esports Masters 2024. This year, the competition will once again bring together students from all over Europe to compete for the title of European University Champion in popular games such as League of Legends, VALORANT, Rocket League, Teamfight Tactics and Clash Royale. With an impressive prize pool of €14,000, the eighth season of the tournament attracts not only competitive gamers, but also those looking to pursue a professional career in esports.

Open tournaments and team competitions

The 2024 season stands out due to the variety of competition formats. Individual players can prove themselves in open tournaments in Teamfight Tactics and Clash Royale, with prize money of €550 and €350 respectively awaiting the winners. But team players also get their money's worth: In games such as Rocket League, League of Legends and VALORANT, national qualifications form the basis for the formation of strong teams that will represent their country and fight for the European title.

German teams in the spotlight

The participation of German university teams deserves special attention. The Dr. Buhmann Akademie [H] from Hanover is once again taking on the challenge in Rocket League, while the KIT from Karlsruhe wants to demonstrate its strength in League of Legends. Georg-August-Universität Göttingen hopes to shine in VALORANT. These teams represent Germany in a field full of ambitious European university teams.

Beyond the competitions

However, the UNIVERSITY Esports Masters is not just about sporting success. The focus is on promoting a sense of community among the participants and creating professional opportunities in esports.
